EVI Audio Hausmesse 2006: A New Dimension

The EVI Audio Hausmesse, the firm's in-house trade fair, has long been assured of a place in the calendar of the global pro audio sector — a status consolidated by the 20th edition of the fair, which ran from the 27th to the 29th January 2006 and to which the team led by Mathias von Heydekampf and Managing Director Lutz Berneke were pleased to welcome around 700 industry insiders from almost 60 countries.

This year, the company's business and media partners enjoyed a Hausmesse with a few organisational novelties, including the relocation of all product demonstrations to the modern and acoustically outstanding Theater am Hagen in Straubing — a sound decision to judge by the feedback from dealers and representatives of the media to the demonstrations by Martin Traut (DYNACORD) and Christian Glück (Electro-Voice).
The highlight of the demos was the presentation of DYNACORD's brand-new high-powered amplifier range, the Power-H Series — with striking support from the internationally established percussion group 'Industrial Drums', known inter alia for its performances at the dedication of Munich's Allianz Arena as well as the Champions' League final.

Another addition to the timetable that was received highly favourably by the thirty or so journalists that had made the trip to Straubing was the press conference conducted by Mathias von Heydekampf, also in the Theater am Hagen. In the course of a lively and entertaining PowerPoint presentation, the president of the Pro Audio group outlined the company's philosophy and with it the secrets of its success, with numerous world-class references (Live8, World Cup venues etc.) substantiating Telex / EVI Audio's claim to leadership in the pro audio industry.

Night of the Kings

The social highlight of the EVI Audio Hausmesse 2006 was the traditional Saturday night party at Pullman City, the European capital of country music, though the theme this year was 'Rock 'n' Roll'. Each guest was given either a quiff or a 50s style blonde wig and it wasn't long before the dancefloor was filled with Elvis doubles and biker chicks rocking to the sounds of L-Jay's Elvis Show and Lucille's Lumbago — led by the entire senior management in glittering jumpsuits, out-Elvising the King in his best Vegas years.
That Telex / EVI Audio had grounds for celebration was clear from Mathias von Heydekampf's welcome speech, in which he drew attention to the double-digit increase in the company's turnover last year as well as its installations in the majority of the venues for this year's FIFA World Cup — statistics that should leave no one in any doubt as to who the King is in the pro audio sector.
